Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) refers to a type of cargo ship or ferry that is designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers, and railroad cars, that can be "rolled on" and "rolled off" the ship using ramps. Ro-Ro ships are commonly used for the transportation of motor vehicles and other wheeled cargo, particularly in situations where the cargo needs to be loaded and unloaded quickly, such as in the shipping of new cars from factories to dealerships. Ro-Ro ships are also used for the transportation of military vehicles and equipment. The term Ro-Ro is also used to describe the type of loading and unloading operations that take place on these ships.
